Triple Canopy, a nonprofit arts magazine based in Manhattan, seeks a Development Manager. In the coming year, the organization will launch a new website and publishing platform that reflects changes to our editorial program and readership engagement strategies. Triple Canopy is looking for a motivated and resourceful individual to join our staff during this exciting and pivotal juncture for the magazine.
Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Development Manager stewards the organization’s development operations to ensure the successful alignment and execution of our diverse fundraising efforts, with a focus on deepening Triple Canopy’s relationships with individual supporters. The Development Manager works closely with the Director and Deputy Director on fundraising campaigns and other cultivation efforts, and oversees the work of a full-time Grants and Communications Manager.
Triple Canopy’s programs-driven fundraising approach is highly collaborative and most successful when campaigns and events artfully reflect the organization’s work and ambitions. Our ideal candidate is a highly organized individual who demonstrates strong leadership potential, as well as a vested interest in developing creative strategies that generate excitement and support for Triple Canopy’s mission and programs among donors and other stakeholders. To that end, we’re looking for someone who derives pleasure and sustenance from art and literature, and shares our belief that magazines should be testing grounds for new ideas, bring together disparate forms of expression, and amplify voices that might not otherwise be heard. We imagine this position to be well suited for an early-career development professional looking to grow into a senior role and make a substantial impact on a small-scale organization.
This is a full-time position based out of Triple Canopy’s workspace in Manhattan with a starting salary of $60,000, plus benefits. The commitment for this position is forty hours per week, which occasionally includes select evenings to staff fundraising events. Currently our staff is working remotely, but we anticipate moving to a hybrid model in the near future to accommodate remote work and in-person collaboration.
