Johnson Lowe Gallery seeks an entry-level candidate for immediate hire to assist gallery staff in web development and media relations. Candidate must possess proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro skills. The Digital Media Coordinator will be responsible for updating and maintaining the gallery website, creating detailed sales documents, presentations, and artist catalogs, along with content creation for social media platforms.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of and interest in Modern and Contemporary Art.
Experience in website management and database functionality (i.e., Artlogic, Artsystems, Artbase).
Experience with photography, videography, photo/video editing, and graphic design required.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro required.
Superior verbal and written communication skills required.
Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail and ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to develop branding assets in a collaborative environment.
Self-motivated with the capacity to initiate action independently, while also acting collaboratively with an intimate team.
Create daily social media copy and content (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn) in the form of photographs, GIF’s, short videos, and Meta ad campaigns.
Design a weekly email newsletter with relevant current and upcoming events.
Optimizing copy and landing pages for SEO Integration, identifying strategy while discovering and expanding on opportunities to implement content recommendations for organic success.
Design graphics including banner ads, magazine placements, brochures, and digital fliers as needed in Photoshop or Illustrator.
Implement digital promotions and analyze analytics for future optimization.
Daily maintenance and updates on our Artlogic website content, Artsy, and artnet platforms.
Create and order print-ready mechanicals for publication as assigned.
Initiate and supervise photo/video shoots for installation images of exhibitions and photographs of events.
Prepare written exhibition materials for wall text, description tags, press kits, and additional in-gallery displays.
Proactively handle press and media inquiries, including sending required image files and information, following up to procure copies of printed material for the gallery library and artists, and cultivating relationships with inquiries for future features.
Review and monitor digital alerts, monitoring news, and updating press packets for weekly review by the gallery team.
Build and maintain strong relations with existing and new media connections that you will help procure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Constant Contact, Google Suite/Microsoft Office, artnet and Artsy platforms.
Awareness of arts-related news channels (artnet, Frieze, ARTnews, etc.), publications, and publicity.
Familiarity with major and alternative arts and culture media.
Ability to provide creative solutions for marketing and media needs.
BA and/or MA in Art History or related field preferred.
Previous experience in a similar role in an industry-related field preferred.
This is a Full-Time, in-person position based in Atlanta, GA.
Working hours are Tuesday – Friday, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm and Saturday, 10:30 am – 5:30 pm.
Candidates will be expected to work additional hours for gallery opening events and related programming, as needed.
