In this role, you will contribute to shape the trajectory of Storefront’s future by leveraging the organization’s cultural capital to forge strategic partnerships and craft innovative fundraising initiatives, while championing our mission and priorities. You’ll have the freedom to pioneer new approaches and the opportunity to collaborate closely with the Executive Director and the rest of the Storefront team, as well as our Board of Directors as we implement our 2024-2027 Strategic Plan

Responsibilities

Development (65%):

Develop and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to support fundraising goals

Direct fundraising efforts of Executive Director, staff, and Board, to secure new and renewed gifts

Expand the prospect pool by nurturing relationships, identifying new candidates, and leveraging data and research

Craft proposals and communications for significant solicitations

Assess current giving programs and donor benefits to enhance revenue from current and prospective donors

Lead planning and execution of annual gala and other fundraising events

Identify and oversee new opportunities from existing and new institutional funders, in collaboration with our grant writer

Manage relationships with and proposals to institutional, government, and corporate partners

Collaborate to expand Storefront’s earned income initiatives, including our bookshop and limited edition projects

Coordinate with our Communications Manager for development communication and correspondence

Manage Donor relationship platforms and fundraising systems

Supervise all revenue streams including Special Event Fundraising, Institutional and Government Grants, Individual and Corporate Membership, and Institutional and individual giving

Strategic Projects (35%):

Design and implement stakeholder engagement models across Storefront’s key strategic projects

Liaise with the Board of Directors on their engagement and support around our strategic initiatives

Collaborate with colleagues to align programmatic priorities with strategic initiatives and development opportunities

Represent Storefront and its interests with key stakeholders and partners.

Lead the growth of Storefront’s relationships with new stakeholders in support of our strategic initiatives

Contribute to annual budget planning alongside the Leadership Team

Lead the evolution of the Development Strategy alongside our Development Consultant and oversee its implementation and expansion during organizational growth

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum 5 years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit setting

At least 2 years of management experience

Ability to contribute to and thrive in a resource-efficient environment

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Exceptional organizational abilities

Flexibility, including availability for weekend and evening commitments

Working outside of a regularly scheduled office is a requirement of this position

Candidates must be located in the New York City region

Travel may be required.
