Atlanta Celebrates Photography is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to cultivating the photographic arts and enriching Atlanta’s cultural community.
Founded in 1998, ACP demonstrates a sustained commitment to making Atlanta the hub for photography by enhancing, educating, and expanding public interest in photography and public art. ACP produces the largest annual community-oriented photo festival in the United States. We provide meaningful opportunities for artists to create, support underserved lens-based artists, and design dynamic platforms for audiences to connect through a diverse array of programs and public art initiatives.
Position Summary
ACP seeks a bold thinker to execute unique in-person and digital engagements that are expansive, thoughtful, and well designed. The Director of PEDE will leverage ACP’s project calendar to develop supporting education and engagement programs that further cultivate our audience in Atlanta and beyond.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Create and plan bold, well-designed, and thoughtful in-person and online engagements to sustain and grow our community
Build organization awareness in the community through programs and marketing
Provide meaningful connections through the medium of photography by fostering our mission
Prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives through unique educational design and a compelling view of contemporary photography
Report to and work with the Executive Director to implement a vision for programs, curricula, and outreach
Design and manage social media and digital content for community building and assets
Strategic implementation of public engagements that activate ACP programs, including public art, ACPfest, Fellowship, portfolio review, lecture series, community programs, and artist-centered programs
Create and sustain community partnerships
Support programs through public engagements and digital experiences
Cultivate an active personal interest in contemporary photography and lens-based mediums
Contribute to a team atmosphere in an ambitious nonprofit organization
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience in arts administration, design, marketing, studio art, arts education, museum studies, or social work.
A track record of championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in the arts or education
Prior experience with education, arts, or cultural organization is preferred, or equivalent creative implementation of audience engagement
Demonstratable experience in digital platform audience engagement and digital placemaking
Knowledge of and passion for photography, video, installation art, public art, and lens-based mediums
Ability to work evenings and weekends when required
Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills
A deep understanding of the mission of Atlanta Celebrates Photography and the power of photography to enact change
Preferred 3+ years of experience in a leadership role in education, museum, public art, curation, or marketing
Proficiency in the following: Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, social media platforms, and project management programs

Atlanta Celebrates Photography aims to create a competitive package for employees, including:
Salary range: $55,000-$61,000 (based on experience)
