Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, manages and coordinates the Getty’s K-1 tax reporting efforts.

Targeted Hiring Range: $142,647.44 - $192,561.20 Annually

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing and coordinating K-1 tax reporting from over 500 limited partnerships. A key responsibility will be to work closely with our public equity, fixed income, private equity, venture capital, hedge fund, energy and real estate managers, reviewing their Getty K-1 tax filings for accuracy and completeness. Responsible for providing timely and accurate K-1s to the Finance Tax Manager who has the ultimate responsibility for filing the Getty’s tax returns.

Responsible for all investment-related aspects of the Getty’s tax returns.

Reviews our partnership agreements and private placement memorandums for tax implications and work with internal staff, investment managers and tax attorneys to utilize the most tax efficient legal structures for both onshore and offshore limited partnerships. Assists the Getty investment staff in utilizing the most efficient tax structure in our investment decisions.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of related work experience. Advanced degree in business, tax or law is a plus.

  • CPA, investment experience with both public and private investment structures, and knowledge of taxes, particularly as they apply to investments and the non-profit sector.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Able to identify important technical tax issues and raise the appropriate questions with tax professionals

  • Understand investment strategies and how taxes impact net returns

  • Able to build impactful and collegial relationships with investment managers and internal staff
