Atelier Works

Atelier Works is fast approaching it’s 30th year. It’s two creative partners both served their time as assistants to leading figures in the UK graphic design fraternity. Our early career grounding has stood us in good stead; guiding Atelier through two recessions, collecting some design accolades and forging some very long term relationships with a range of prestigious clients.

Responsibilities

We work in small partner-led teams and over the years many designers have passed through our doors, leaving with valuable skills gleaned from their time spent working closely with an Atelier partner. Nevertheless, finding just the right person to sit alongside one of our partners is a particular task. We would like to hear from an artworker/designer who is interested in the craft of design; the development of a concept, the detailed refinement and the accurate implementation of a signed-off solution.

Requirements

Atelier’s design interests are niche but fascinating – so using software would need to be one of your fervent interests. Can you colour balance accurately for super-sized environmental graphics, merge data by linking Excel with InDesign for print work, use Fontographer to revive a long-lost typeface? Have you ever used SketchUp for wayfinding projects or worked in 3D software to create a bas-relief for a coin? Are you exceptionally well organised and have the patience to work in miniature on multiple versions of a postage stamp? Do you have the nous to template and sequence a conference presentation or have the clarity of thought to turn a complex website brief into a much simplified wireframe?

This is what we mean by the craft of design. It requires a ‘can-do’ attitude and if you can’t, then you must be self motivated to find out how.

How to Apply

This is a permanent full-time position, based in South London, starting immediately.

If this opportunity sounds right for you please send your CV and a PDF with examples of your work in an email (Subject: artworker/designer) to info@atelierworks.co.uk - Atelier Works does not accept unsolicited CVs from external recruitment agencies and will not accept any associated fees.
