The Hospitality and Private Events department of the Skirball Cultural Center seeks a capable, conscientious Event Coordinator. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Hospitality and Private Events, the Event Coordinator will be responsible for client relations, administrative and financial management of accounts, and full operational knowledge and use of the Ungerboeck Event Management software system.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate special events following the policies and practices of event management at the Skirball.

  • Utilize sales and public relations skills to present Skirball products and services to develop new client base while maintaining long-term accounts.

  • Create and update event orders, which serve as the blueprint for all responsible contributing internal departments and contracted services.

  • Identify concerns and problem-solve within the established guidelines.

  • Create and monitor client contracts, including budget and outside services contracted through the Skirball.

  • Facilitate and manage changing client needs, paying impeccable attention to detail, and communicate changes to all impacted internal departments.

  • Assess the entire scope of an event and identify all details necessary for its success.

  • Perform all duties in accordance with the Skirball’s mission and vision.

Requirements
  • Previous experience within social, corporate, or nonprofit event sales and planning

  • Computer skills to include Word, Excel, and event planning software; previous experience with Delphi or Ungerboeck preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must be able to work independently, as a team player, and cross-functionally with all other Skirball departments

  • Must be able to work flexible hours which will include evenings and weekends.
