Founded in 1997, CDL is a full-service fine art advisory based in Los Angeles, California. For over 20 years, Cardiff Dugan Loy has been helping clients build world-class art collections. Loy’s extensive knowledge of art history qualifies her to evaluate contemporary art in the context of the modern masters that came before. Her many years of experience, insider knowledge and industry contacts allow her clients access to the best works on the international art market, in which the demand surpasses the supply, and when in many cases, the most desirable works of art are not in public view.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, extremely organized, and is a collaborative team member who will support our Founder in administration and sales. This role will also provide some support to CDL CEO and collaborate with Director, Client Engagement and Operations.
Sales Assistant Duties
Generate sales offers, dossiers, and presentation materials to clients on behalf of the Founder.
Project Manager for annual international art fairs, such as Art Basel, Frieze, Armory, TEFAF, Independent, EXPO, etc.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of gallery exhibition schedules in major domestic and international art hubs (Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Hong Kong), flagging important contemporary art news, openings, and events for Founder and CEO.
Maintain advisory and client data, market intelligence, and relevant artist information in the company database.
Adminstrative Duties:
Prepare the Owner’s daily agenda, meetings, and call sheet
General office administration
Manage all necessary travel arrangements
Special project support as needed
Bachelor’s Degree
At least two to three years of work experience
Flexibility working remotely and in-person
Schedule requires early morning communications with European and all US timezones on weekdays, and occasional availability on weekends
Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a high-volume email/workload
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented work style
Knowledge of contemporary art, art institutions, and the art market preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with database management preferred
