Art Crating, Inc., a high-end art handling company of 36 years located in Greenpoint-Brooklyn, seeks an Office Administrator with 5-10 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, a professional demeanor and ability to work efficiently in a challenging work environment. Daily routine requires fielding a high volume of phone calls and emails, cultivating and preserving client relationships, processing paperwork and maintaining both electronic and paper filing systems, providing estimates and assisting with scheduling, working within customized FileMaker Pro database, and performing general office upkeep and administrative tasks as needed. Applicant will be required to work within established departmental structures while seeking to create efficiencies that maintain standards and benefit the team.
The position requires that candidate have a high attention to detail, ability to work professionally with clients in writing and via telephone. Additionally, the Office Administrator will be a key employee working to maintain office work flow. This function requires articulate and clear internal communication with other staff while maintaining a positive energy.
Applicants must have experience working with fine art logistics and be a motivated, independent individual who can collaborate well within a team dynamic to facilitate and support departmental needs.
Ideally candidates have held prior office setting positions and have 5-10 years of experience in the industry. BFA/MFA is preferred. Knowledge of materials and the handling of art and/or artifacts is essential. The company works on a Mac based platform and familiarity with FileMaker Pro, Word, Excel, and Photoshop is required.
