Neon Artist Studio assistant and manager:
World renowned neon sculptor, Craig Kraft, is in search of a studio manager and art assistant to manage a commercial neon business in Washington DC and assistant with fine art neon production.
The position requires a multifaceted knowledge of fabrication, graphic design, and administration. Work also includes high profile neon installations and restoration (Glenstone, Phillips Collection, Smithsonian, etc.)
5 days a week
Mon-Fri 9:30a-5:30p
pay $16-20/hr DOE
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Assisting with the fabrication of commercial neon signage, custom neon projects, fine art neon works.
Fabricating supports for neon signage/fine art works
General studio management including emails, scheduling and inventory and driving in DC
Repairing commercial neon signage in the DC area
Requirements
Skills required:
Mastery of adobe suite programs for renderings of neon tube patterns and sculptures
Shop skills: wood and acrylic fabrication, some welding, sculpture assembly
Art handling and handling of neon tubing
Minor electrical work- wiring transformers and neon
Sculptural and commercial neon installation.
