The Tyrolean artist community is looking for an Artistic Director & Managing Director for the areas Art Pavilion, Neue Galerie in the Hofburg Innsbruck and Representation of Interest.

The Verein Tiroler Künstlerschaft is a forum for art in Tyrol. It is a non-profit, politically independent association of visual artists based in Innsbruck. The Tyrolean artist society currently has about 335 members. The purpose of the association is to represent and promote the cultural, economic and social interests of visual artists.

The Tiroler Künstlerschaft operates the facilities Kunstpavillon, Neue Galerie in the Hofburg Innsbruck and Künstlerhaus Büchsenhausen, the latter having its own management, which leads the association in the four-eye principle with the advertised position.

The exhibition program in the Art Pavilion and the Neue Galerie, which places the local scene in an exchange with supraregional positions, is primarily generated via an international open call. The artistic director takes part in the judging of the exhibition program, is responsible for the organization and curatorial supervision of the projects and can curate one exhibition per year independently of the open call. In addition, it provides for a corresponding public relations work, oversees the financial management of the association in accordance with the current rules of procedure, prepares and moderates the meetings of the association board, is a contact person for the concerns of the members, coordinates the available staff in the Art Pavilion and the New Gallery .

Responsibilities

We offer a varied leadership for a person with curatorial practice and a high artistic and cultural commitment. The interest in contemporary art in all its forms and the joy of communicating are as much a prerequisite as a completed art education or an equivalent subject related degree. You should also have experience in subsidizing and fundraising.

Requirements

Are you also a team player, have organizational talent, are practical and flexible, speak German and English excellent in spoken and written form, like to work in subject-specific and interdisciplinary art, cultural-political networking groups and art education, like to speak in front of an audience and have no fear of presentations (evening events)? Then we await your application!

Monthly salary 2.400, - Euro gross

Weekly working hours 35 hours with possibility of an increase to full employment.

Place of employment: Innsbruck

Start of service: November 2019 (negotiable)
