LAMA is looking for an experienced cataloguer and client service representative with knowledge of modern and contemporary art and design to assist with receiving, cataloging and describing property to be sold at auction or in one of our online direct sales venues.
Responsibilities will include:
Primary point of contact for incoming shipment and deliveries to LAMA
Receive, identify and tag all incoming property
Assist with shipping arrangements and the administration of large consignments
Catalog property to be sold at auction or otherwise
Complete condition reports and vet auction property with our specialists
Oversee and manage the restoration of inventory
Address property questions as they arise
Day of sale assistance as needed
Experience required:
1-2 years experience in an auction house or gallery setting
A minimum of BA degree (preferably in Design, Art, Art History)
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in standard computer programs such as Word and Excel
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- Prior understanding of the auction business
