LAMA is seeking a full-time photo assistant to work in our studio in Van Nuys, CA. As the photo assistant at LAMA, you will work alongside our photographer to facilitate the daily shoots for luxury vintage furniture, objects and fine art.
Responsibilities
Assist the photographer on set with the flow of property and support photography needs
Communicate daily with the photographer & property handers regarding priority inventory / projects
Learn the auction deadlines and assist the photographer to keep photo shoot running smooth & on schedule
Maintain a complete understanding of all lighting scenarios and build sets accordingly
Work with everyone to maintain organization and cleanliness in the studio
Order supplies for the photo studio and photo shoots
Ensure studio equipment is operating properly, assisting with repairs when necessary
Step in as second shooter as-needed
Requirements
1–2 years of studio assistant / digital technician experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Photography or equivalent professional experience
Knowledge of studio lighting for various sized subjects
Working knowledge of medium format camera systems, strobe lighting and studio grip equipment
Experience using Capture One software and Mac OS
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues across the organization
Capable of lifting 50 pounds
