Kalon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Sales Representative with a working knowledge of the design industry and extensive experience in sales. This is not a sales floor position. This person will be responsible for procurement, outreach and cultivating relationships with potential retail partners and prospective clients. They will manage a slate of wholesale, trade, and distributor accounts as well as being the point of contact for architects, interior designers and retail partners. The ideal candidate has a true joy of communication and possesses the initiative and drive to grow with Kalon.

Founded in 2008 by Johann Pauwen and Michaele Simmering, Kalon is a design studio based in Los Angeles. Stemming from a belief in the simple beauty and emotive power of everyday objects, Kalon seeks to deepen our relationship and reverence for the things we live with. Kalon’s work maintains a strong point of view informed by American furniture traditions and modernist design, with a focus on elemental forms, natural materials, and versatility. The studio prides itself on its intense attention to materiality, which is at the core of each of our designs, as is an obsession with integrity. With a commitment to ecologically-conscious, regional production, Kalon partners with small teams of highly skilled, fairly paid craftspeople and uses timber sourced from sustainably managed forests and the highest quality natural finishes and materials. This is a salaried, full time and on-site position. Benefits include health insurance, dental/vision, 401k, generous time off and quarterly bonuses based on performance. Responsibilities
  • Sales and client procurement

  • Create and manage sales strategies

  • Manage and cultivate strong relationships with trade, wholesale and distribution accounts

  • Generate leads and follow up on inquiries using CRM tools

  • Meet sales targets

  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling and in the field client presentations

  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments

Requirements
  • 3 years minimum of professional experience demonstrated in sales and client acquisition, ideally in the furniture or design industry

  • Excellent communication skills in clarity and tone, great with people and enthusiastic about design
