GALLERY ADMINISTRATOR

Tuesday – Saturday (Full-time, non-exempt)

David Kordansky Gallery seeks a highly motivated, extremely organized, personable, and detail-oriented person who wants to be part of a rapidly growing, internationally renowned contemporary art gallery in Los Angeles. The Gallery Administrator role is an hourly, full-time position, five days per week, and requires flexibility for additional hours based on the needs of the Gallery.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet gallery visitors, answer gallery phones, and facilitate client visits with staff

  • Carry out daily closing or opening procedures, based on alternating schedule with other administrators

  • Maintain general tidiness of the gallery and monitor supply levels

  • Run errands and arrange gifts on behalf of gallery staff, as needed

  • Assist in maintaining contact database records with up-to-date client and artist information

  • Manage event guest lists and invitations; monitor RSVPs

  • Assist the Sales Team in updating artwork inventory and information

  • Assist the Sales Team in preparing images and offer PDFs

  • Staff gallery events, including openings and dinners, as required

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of contemporary art required

  • Bachelor’s degree in art history, studio art, or related field required

  • At least 1 year of professional experience in an art world setting required, preferably in a contemporary art gallery

  • Proficiency in the Google Suite and Microsoft Excel required

  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign), ArtBase (or similar database), and ArtBinder preferred

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Self-motivated, trustworthy, and responsible

  • Able to work successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Excellent communication and listening skills

  • Fluent in English
