Salon 94 is seeking to hire an experienced employee to join our Archives, Media, and Design department. We are seeking a leader who can oversee all media, archives, imaging, design, and communications. Attention to detail in all tasks as well as strong organizational skills, time management skills are required. This is a full time, regular position, with a Tuesday to Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm schedule.
The core responsibilities of this department are threefold:
Maintain all internal media including press and image assets on server and database as well as text documents such as artist biographies and c.v.’s.
Facilitate all image licensing and media requests between–and on behalf of–artist studios, estates, galleries, and institutions.
Oversee all external media such as social media, website, exhibition announcements, newsletters, and, in conjunction with other staff, sales .pdfs and press releases.
Additional duties of the department to include:
Editing and labeling images in post-production
Overseeing photography of exhibitions
Collecting documentation—both photographic and textual–of off-site exhibitions and art fairs
Ensure smooth operations between with sales team, retained PR firm, press outlets, and general public
Additional duties as assigned.
You must have extensive experience with photography, gallery archives, Artbase, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and general Mac platforms. Gallery experience is a must as is fluency in modern and contemporary art. Experience with managing outside consultants on website redesign preferable. You must have the ability to plan and execute long-term projects and be able to establish and manage priorities.
