Martos Gallery is seeking a full-time gallery assistant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to greeting visitors and answering phones, sending out e-blasts and maintaining the gallery’s social media, assisting the gallery’s owner and director, and general administrative support. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, organized, able to interact comfortably with the public, and have an interest in contemporary art. Must be detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities. Salary commensurate with experience.
Field phone calls for the gallery and maintain gallery email account
Greet visitors and clients of the gallery, provide basic information to gallery visitors and properly direct inquiries
Regularly update and generate timely content for gallery social media, maintain and update gallery website
Maintain gallery appearance and administrative organization, keep gallery stocked with office supplies
Regularly update and maintain the gallery’s contact database and gallery calendar
Assist with various projects for artists and senior staff as needed
Coordinate gallery openings and events
Book travel for senior staff
Bachelor’s degree
Interest in contemporary art
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and organizational skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience with Mac OS and Adobe Suite preferred
