About Union Hall

Union Hall is a non-profit arts exhibition space located at The Coloradan in Downtown Denver, advancing opportunities for diverse, emerging artists and creatives, and showcasing groundbreaking exhibitions in the Union Station neighborhood. It also serves the neighborhood and Denver at large as a community-focused arts space and culture concierge.

Our curatorial program is focused on experimental and engaging exhibitions utilizing new mediums and technology, while featuring equitable exhibition demographics with young, underrepresented artists and curators. Job Description

Union Hall is seeking a Gallery & Marketing Manager to manage Union Hall’s exhibition space, coordinate and execute online marketing efforts and provide support to both the Executive Director and the Chief Curator throughout exhibitions and events.

Seeking a multi-tasker who is able to stay on top of multiple projects, adaptable to changing priorities, service-oriented and proactive. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for all online marketing, administrative and operational functions for events, programs, and exhibitions, as well as managing interns and volunteers.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the operations of the gallery space independently during open hours. Gallery hours will be 12-6PM Thursday-Saturday in 2020, with the intention of expanding hours in 2021

  • Maintain the gallery space, coordinating with building management, and providing customer support for visitors of the space

  • Communication with artists and local cultural partners

  • Coordination of all online marketing, including weekly newsletters and social media management

  • Spearhead website design and maintenance

  • Coordination of artwork shipping, storage, installation and de-installation

  • Support to the Chief Curator throughout all exhibitions and programming

  • Prepare and participate in exhibition opening receptions and special events

  • Manage private event rental inquiries, tours and contracts and supervise private events

  • Intern & volunteer management

  • Other administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; fine arts or arts management, marketing or liberal arts degrees accepted

  • Administrative experience and high attention to detail

  • Experience with online communications and marketing

  • Highly organized, motivated, able to work independently and as a team member

  • Maintains professional demeanor; demonstrates integrity and confidentiality

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills; effectively builds trust with artists, guests, and residents through written and oral correspondence

  • High level of technical/computer skills (MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point; Adobe Acrobat proficiency required, Adobe Creative Suite proficiency preferred)

  • Previous experience working in a gallery, museum or other related arts organization preferred

  • Graphic design experience preferred

  • Driver’s license, reliable transportation and current automobile insurance required

  • Flexibility in day-to-day job responsibilities and hours, including occasional evening and weekend events

COMPENSATION

Salary of $38,000-$42,000; with vacation days, holidays, and health benefits available.
