As a member of our studio team you will be responsible for assisting the Lead Gaffer, Studio Manager and various freelance glass artists. We are looking for someone with a passion for the art of glass as well as the local glass artist community. You will not only work with our immensely talented studio team but our sister companies that are focused on custom lighting and mirror manufacturing. This position reports directly to the Lead Gaffer.
Responsibilities:
Daily Hot Shop preparation and organization
Weekly furnace charging and documentation
Color bar organization and inventory tracking
Studio supplies organization and stocking - packaging, glass, gas, belts, discs, etc etc
Manage assigned responsibilities, milestones and deadlines.
Continuous improvement at all levels.
Attention to detail and overall passion for quality
Requirements:
BFA or MFA with a focus upon the glass arts.
2-4+ years experience
Experience in lighting or technical fields is a plus
2D sketch communication for internal brainstorming
3D CAD - Solidworks - basic understanding is a plus
Adobe - Illustrator and Photoshop - basic understanding
Critical thinking, the ability to foresee problems and suggest multiple solutions.
Mechanical Aptitude. Strong mechanical aptitude with an eye for the details
Communication. Great communication skills are a must, this is a truly collaborative team environment. Positive and professional attitude, with a willingness to learn.
