Triple Canopy, a nonprofit arts magazine based in Manhattan, seeks a part-time Grant Writer.
Triple Canopy publishes and presents work by artists, writers, and researchers, primarily through the magazine’s digital platform but also in conversations, performances, videos, books, and podcasts, among other media and experiences. Collaborating with contributors from the conception to the realization of projects, Triple Canopy navigates the digital and physical realms where ideas and audiences take shape.
The ideal candidate is highly organized and a strong writer with a flair for translating complex ideas into clear, compelling language. As part of the development team and in consultation with editors, the Grant Writer will manage existing grants, seek out new opportunities, and create proposals for the support of Triple Canopy’s work by foundations, patrons, and other potential sponsors. We’re looking for someone who derives pleasure and sustenance from art and literature, and shares our belief in magazines as testing grounds for new ideas, bringing together disparate forms of expression (and audiences).
This is a part-time position based out of Triple Canopy’s office and venue in Manhattan, with a starting salary of $30/hour and four weeks of paid vacation, as well as all federal holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. The commitment for this position is twenty-four hours per week, which includes occasionally working at (or attending) evening and weekend events.
