Grants Consultant (Contract)

NIAD Art Center

NIAD is seeking an experienced Grants Consultant to manage and strengthen our institutional grants

program over a twelve-month term. Contributed income is a significant part of NIAD’s revenue, and this

engagement is intended to give the grants portfolio dedicated professional attention while reducing the

amount of grant writing, tracking, and follow-up currently carried by senior leadership.

The Grants Consultant will manage NIAD’s institutional grants pipeline from prospect research and proposal

development through award tracking, implementation check-ins, reporting, and renewal strategy. The work

includes strengthening and stewarding relationships with existing funders; identifying and pursuing

well-aligned new funding opportunities; developing strong proposals and reports; and maintaining the

systems, deadlines, records, and internal follow-up needed to ensure grant-funded commitments are

completed and documented.

The strongest proposals from NIAD carry artists’ own voices, choices, practices, and ambitions rather than

describing them from the outside. We are looking for a writer who can understand NIAD as a contemporary

arts organization, spend meaningful time with our programs and artists, and write about the work with

specificity and fluency.

The consultant will work most closely with the Development Director and Executive Director and will

collaborate with staff across NIAD’s program, finance, and administrative teams.
