Poetic Justice at MIT Media Lab is a group of critical thinkers and makers researching social inequality across multiple fields, including social science, to develop artworks in sound, video, multimedia, sculpture and installation. We’ve been developing a series of participatory projects in which we collect audio and video recordings from the public and remix them into public multimedia artworks works.
We’re looking for a self-directed Graphic Designer to help develop visual identities, websites, digital and printed educational/promotional materials for our projects ranging from public seminars to participatory artworks. Must be interested in research-based approaches as well as multilingual and respectful design principles. This role is a freelance remote position. However, preferably you’d be located in the NYC or Boston area.
B.A. or M.F.A. in Graphic Design; or equivalent work experience
At least 2-3 years of experience in graphic design
Ability to work on multiple design projects and timelines simultaneously, both independently and collaboratively
