The Cultivist is looking for a highly organized and proactive candidate to join their New York team as a Junior Digital Editor on a 3 month contract. As a quickly growing business, The Cultivist is a fast-paced environment for learning about the art world. This position will provide the opportunity to work with a growing team and to learn more about the access The Cultivist provides for our members, in addition to the latest exhibitions and events taking place in the art world. The successful candidate will be both knowledgeable about the art world and capable of writing catchy, engaging copy.
Schedule:
9am to 6pm, Monday through Thursday
Some additional hours may be necessary
Compensation:
$15/hour
3 month contract to start
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Write custom, art focused, travel itineraries for Cultivist members on an ongoing and per request basis
Research top travel destinations and compile and organize best art world recommendations for each location
Conduct regular updates to our website using information from previously mentioned research
Write copy (1-2 paragraphs) for monthly events, adding to website and paraphrasing for weekly newsletters
Write 2-3 short editorial stories per month and post on website
Perform routine copy checks for text included on the website, social media, digital and printed marketing materials and event invitations
Draft and propose copy for The Cultivist’s Instagram static posts (daily) and stories (2-3 per week)
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
1-2 years experience in writing in a professional capacity
Background in art is a big plus
Strong research skills are a must
Experience with Adobe Suite is a plus
Knowledgeable about Instagram
Highly detail-oriented and organized
Able to work efficiently and prioritize one’s workload
Able to manage multiple demands in fast-paced setting and turn projects around quickly
Personable and a team player
