Reporting to the Executive Director, and working closely with the Member Services Coordinator and the PR Firm, the Marketing and Communications Associate will play an important role in helping achieve ADAA’s objectives through strategic marketing and communications initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Build a strategy to grow ADAA’s audience as well as
engagement across social media channels;
Write posts for all ADAA’s social media channels;
Produce Gallery Chat interviews;
Liaise with Members to gather content ideas for posts;
Maintain brand (ADAA) and sub-brands (Foundation, Art
Show, etc.) identities by: Working with the PR firm to develop a narrative brief that focuses on a few facets of the ADAA brand that are important to highlight during the annual cycle to accomplish broader institutional goals; Working with the PR firm to develop a narrative brief around The Art Show and Foundation;
Managing co-branding opportunities with partners and
sponsors.
Develop and manage ADAA’s brand style guide, templates,
and usage rules;
Help develop marketing assets and originate campaign
ideas;
Produce general member updates (quarterly newsletters,
monthly Gallery Guides, Member Meeting announcements, etc.);
Under the guidance of the Executive Director, produce
legislative and legal updates that impact Members’ businesses;
Develop concepts, budgets, and project manage all ADAA
Promotional events including Gallery Walks, Gallery Selfie Day, ADAA On the Road, etc.
Work with Members to align their activity with the ADAA’s
major communication initiatives;
Work with partners (other professional organizations and
arts/education institutions) to drive traffic to Members and their galleries;
Update the annual directory of Members;
Cultivate and maintain relationships with Vendor Affiliates
and other sponsors;
Coordinate outreach and on-site management of tour
groups at The Art Show;
Assist in producing and proofreading Art Show marketing
materials and advertisements;
Supervise McCall Associates on ADAA cooperative
advertising;
Liaise with PR firm to schedule meetings and set agendas;
Assist PR firm with research for press releases, proofread
press releases before distribution.
General
Define key audiences and customize a CRM to leverage our
market intelligence and build stronger relationships;
Manage and maintain the ADAA’s contact database;
Audit contact records to ensure the entire staff is
maintaining data integrity;
Manage and maintain the ADAA public-facing website;
Work with Member Services Coordinator to refresh
Member Packets on an annual basis;
Maintain 3rd party platforms used for web, email, and social
media campaigns;
Report on Marketing and Public Relations efforts and
results to Executive Director;
Maintain and manage an archive of marketing collateral
(digital and print assets), core public relations material and press coverage.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree;
2 or more years of professional marketing and
communications writing and editing experience;
Experience managing multiple social media accounts;
Experience with Adobe Suite, Canva, Mailchimp;
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs and
Google Drive platforms.
A commitment to the ADAA’s mission and values is a key aspect of this position. This position operates in a professional office environment and employees are required to work during regular office hours from Monday through Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm. Employees must also work extended hours at the Park Avenue Armory during The Art Show, as well as occasional extended hours for other special events.
