Further Triennial seeks a full-time Marketing and Communications Specialist to help develop and express the voice of the Triennial in the lead-up to and throughout the 2027 exhibition season (March 10–June 10, 2027). Further celebrates the offbeat and wildly creative spirit of Northern California. We are looking for someone who can shape a singular and recognizable voice that captures the offbeat sensibility of the Triennial in a way that is unique and engaging for audiences.
The Specialist will be the primary content creator for Further Triennial’s digital communications—writing, editing, and adapting content across email, social media, website, and partner-facing materials. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys experimenting with language to create a distinctive brand voice, translating complex ideas into engaging content, and being on the ground to document events, programs, and collaborations to engage with visitors and create compelling content. This person will also assist with tasks related to paid marketing and public relations.
Background
Taking place across 70 Northern California-based visual art venues from March to June 2027, Further Triennial will premier exhibitions and programs that explore the art of Northern California from 1945 to the present. During this three month period, museums and arts spaces–large and small–will come together to spotlight contemporary artists, share untold histories, and explore themes that highlight the region’s innovative thinking, offbeat sensibility, and artistic expression.
Role
Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Director and broader team, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will develop and maintain a consistent, compelling voice for the Triennial across all digital channels, with an emphasis on social media and email marketing. The role blends strategy and execution, with an emphasis on ideating, writing, editing, and producing tailored content for different audiences and platforms. The role is ideal for a creative, organized, detail-oriented writer who loves content generation and wants to be deeply embedded in a major regional arts initiative.
