Open Position:

This position provides a vital link between the Pioneer Valley Symphony (PVS), our members, and our community of supporters. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator builds and manages the PVS’ visibility, and is responsible for the creation, dissemination, and management of multi-channel campaigns to promote events, recruit musicians, and solicit donations and sponsorships. This position works collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners, and reports to the Executive Director.

Schedule:

Part-time (20-25 hours/week), flexible schedule, mostly remote (some in-person meetings required). This position is available for immediate hire. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Compensation: $22/hr

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Manage PVS branding, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and professionalism across all channels and mediums.

Develop a compelling suite of complementary materials for the season, including:

Digital graphics for social media, web, and email communications

Print materials (postcards and mailings, program books, brochures)

Video collateral

Create engaging copy, including:

Radio ads, calendar posts, press releases

Web updates, social media posts, email campaigns

Sponsorship pitch materials

Fundraising solicitations and campaigns (in collaboration with colleagues and volunteers)

Develop and oversee holistic marketing and communication strategy to achieve strategic goals.

Develop paid media strategy and actively manage marketing budget.

Leverage relationships with media, sponsor, and community contacts to improve visibility.

Enhance PVS online presence to optimize our website and social media platforms, including designing and implementing new initiatives.

Requirements

Required:

Strong content creation experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proofreading proficiency, with high attention to detail.

Proven excellence working collaboratively and independently to meet goals and deadlines.

Very organized, able to multitask and meet project deadlines.

Experience and facility with:

Canva, InDesign, or other design tools.

Wix or other modular website building tools.

social media platforms and management tools (e.g. Meta Business, Hootsuite)

electronic marketing and communication tools (e.g., MailChimp).

common GSuite apps.

search engine optimization.

social media and web traffic analytics.

Helpful:

Knowledge of classical music and/or arts education.

Experience with fundraising campaigns or events.

Editorial experience.

Familiarity with Slack or other communication/project management tools.

Experience with relational databases (e.g. Tessitura, Salesforce, PatronManager)
