Position: National and International Outreach Programs Coordinator

The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) has developed a unique program of affiliate groups located throughout the U.S., Canada, South America and Europe. These volunteers have organized as committees to promote women in the arts in their regions and support the museum’s mission – championing women in the arts. The primary responsibilities of the National and International Outreach Programs Coordinator include administering and coordinating all committee activities; helping to develop committee programs; and assisting with cultivation and stewardship efforts.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities support the Deputy Director, National and International Affairs:

  • Assist with creative program development and assistance to maximize visibility

  • Coordinate: websites/social media/ promotional materials

  • Assist with conference planning in DC and in the regions

  • Assist with new Committee Development

  • Administer all details relating to Women to Watch, emerging women artists exhibition;

  • Administer, track and help develop: budgets; invoicing; acknowledgements; updating constituent records

  • Prepare articles for the museum’s magazine and annual report

Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of work experience in the areas outlined above. The successful candidate should demonstrate the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills

  • Excellent editing skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Great interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative

  • Proven ability to interact well with donors a plus

  • Art history background and/or museum/gallery experience preferred

SALARY:

The starting salary for this position is $45,000-$55,000 annually and includes a benefits package.
