Monocle is part of the Winkorp group comprising two main entities: Monocle magazine with print and digital channels and an expanding retail offer and Winkreative, the brand strategy and design agency.
Via Monocle shops in London, LA, Toronto, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Zürich, and Merano, we sell our books and magazines together with products that cater to our readers’ tastes, produced by brands we believe in. We also have cafés in Tokyo, Zürich, and London, as well as a newsstand and coffee shop in London. Monocle’s retail operations are growing, and the international e-commerce channel has been especially dynamic in the past 18 months. With further growth ahead, we are looking to grow our LA retail team.
The combined team of both businesses numbers more than 200 people and they come from all around the globe. They are vibrant, knowledgeable, and eager to go the extra mile.
Monocle Los Angeles is looking for a sales member, for its Culver City shop. This is a Wednesday to Sunday shift opening.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable on all products offered.
Delivering sales, customer experience, merchandising, visual and operational expectations.
Act as a brand ambassador for Monocle.
Ability to learn and share the expertise of products and trends to fit customer’s needs.
Maintains an awareness of all product knowledge and current or forthcoming products and trends.
Contributes to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Maintains shop supplies and manages ordering processes.
Ability to freely access all areas of the shop, including sales floor and stock areas, by standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing a ladder or step stool.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs at any given time; ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 30lbs.
Requirements
Required skills:
Ideally one year’s experience in a high-level retail store.
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.
Motivated to achieve great results through enthusiasm in interacting with customers and in Monocle’s products.
Ability to initiate and complete tasks or activities without necessary supervision.
Strong cognitive and mathematical skills, including problem analysis, decision-making, and financial analysis.
