Crate 88 is looking for applicants with wood shop experience to work in a well-established business with a culture of cooperation, independence and respect for employees.
While this position does not primarily involve artwork and valuables, care and thoughtfulness is required as such items are present in the workplace. In addition, from time to time assistance may be required outside of crate shop.
Compensation:
$21-$29/hr dependent on experience. 2 - 4 days a week, with potential for future full-time position given performance & demand.
This is a part-time position working in our woodshop to build crates. Once trained, position holder will receive plans and be responsible for beginning-to-end construction of wooden crate shells, as well as assisting with larger crates. Maintaining cleanliness and safety of work space also a must!
Possible additional responsibilities include assistance with unpacking/packing of oversized artworks as part of larger crew, moving items in warehouse, loading/unloading trucks, etc.
Must be able to lift heavy objects safely, including full sheets of ¾" plywood.
Must have woodshop experience (i.e. comfortable with industrial power tools, able to cut straight lines with table saw, etc)
Must be able to effectively communicate with the team and understand and follow instructions
Must be capable of handling delicate, valuable items with thoughtfulness and care
Must be vaccinated for COVID-19
