Title: Part-Time Sales Associate
Reports To: Gallery Owner, Gallery Director
Location: Santa Fe Railyard Arts District
Schedule: 20 hours/week, Thursday-Saturday
Compensation: Hourly or Part-Time Salaried + Commission
GENERAL FUNCTION
Top-ranked contemporary art gallery in the Santa Fe Railyard Arts District seeks Part-Time Sales Associate with a penchant for both digital and in-person sales. We’re looking for someone with a positive and collaborative attitude who’s ready to help enact new sales strategies as the art market evolves.
Our ideal candidate will be prepared to hit the ground running on a number of robust and innovative sales strategies. With passion and diligence they’ll conduct sales work in two areas:
As a part-time position, this role centers on conducting sales and generating leads. However, it requires some minor administrative work such as directing inbound phone calls, preparing daily sales registers, and inventory management as it pertains to sales. Though sales experience is a plus, we’re also drawn to less-experienced candidates with an in-depth knowledge of fine art and a strong desire to pursue a career in fine art sales.
WORKING CONDITION
Part-time, with a three-month trial period. Compensation is hourly + commission.
This part-time position begins with a three-month trial period, with potential for the position to evolve into a full-time, salaried position with benefits.
Responsibilities
Enacting digital sales efforts. That includes building and managing our client database, crafting engaging responses to sales inquiries generated by our marketing efforts, and generating new leads through vigorous digital outreach efforts.
Conducting in-person sales. We are currently accepting one-on-one, masked appointments. The Part-Time Sales Associate will guide visitors and small groups through the collection and conduct in-person sales work.
Requirements
- Experience as a Sales Associate, or similar role.
OR
- In-depth knowledge of fine art, and a strong desire to pursue a career in fine art sales.
GALLERY-SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE (A plus, but not required)
Experience with online art sales platforms such as Artsy, Artnet and 1stDibs.
Knowledge of fine art prints, as we maintain a collection focused on editioned prints by Post-War and contemporary masters.
Experience with jewelry sales, as we maintain a gallery shop in addition to our visual art program.
