Wright is seeking a full-time photo assistant to work in our studios. As the photo assistant at Wright, you will work alongside our photographer to facilitate the daily shoots for luxury vintage furniture, objects and fine art. Wright is searching for an individual to assist our photographer in lighting setup, managing equipment & workflow, as well as the ability to step in as second shooter when necessary. The Wright, Rago, & LA Modern brands place significant value on the representation of our material through photography, and the quality of our images. The working environment in our west loop gallery is filled with iconic 20th century design and fine art—it is fast-paced but most-notably, creatively driven each step of the way.
Responsibilities
Assist the photographer on set
Communicate daily with the photographer & property handers regarding priority inventory / projects
Learn the auction deadlines and assist the photographer to keep photo shoot running smooth & on schedule
Maintain a complete understanding of all lighting scenarios and build sets accordingly
Work with the photographer to maintain organization in the studio
Order supplies for the photo studio and photo shoots
Ensure studio equipment is operating properly, assisting with repairs when necessary
Step in as second shooter as-needed
Requirements
1-2 years of studio assistant experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Photography
Knowledge of studio lighting for various sized subjects
Working knowledge of strobe lighting
Experience using Capture One software
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues across the organization
Capable of lifting 50 pounds
