SNAP (The Society of Northern Alberta Print-Artists) seeks applications for the permanent position of Printshop & Programs Coordinator. The Printshop & Programs Coordinator position is a key role in the daily operation of SNAP’s printshop and its associated programs, and will be especially important in moving the organization forward as we look to reopen and revitalize our education and community outreach programs.

Reporting to and with support and direction from the Executive Director, the Printshop & Programs Coordinator is responsible for the planning and implementation of SNAP’s core community education, artist residency, and studio rental programs. The Printshop & Programs Coordinator will be responsible for regular facility and equipment maintenance, supplies management, and ensuring health & safety is a priority in the printshop and throughout our programs at all times.

25-35 hrs/week (negotiable), Tuesday to Saturday

22 CAD/hr

Responsibilities

Core areas of responsibility:

  • Coordinating SNAP Community Education programs, including planning, scheduling, enrollment, course development & supplies

  • Maintenance, organization, and development of the printshop facility, supplies, equipment & digital printing lab.

  • Oversee & execute the orientation and assessment of new renters.

  • Oversee & execute a regular Open Studio drop-in program.

  • Regularly update, develop and maintain health & safety information and practices.

  • Act as the main point of contact for education and rental inquiries and provide technical support for visiting artists, instructors, renters, and artists in residence.

  • Engage regularly with the general public and act as a point of information and stewardship for all SNAP Programs.

  • Develop relationships with and seek out opportunities for collaboration with other community organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.

In addition, and whenever necessary, ALL staff will lend support in the following areas:

  • Daily transactions with renters, students, members & gallery patrons.

  • Work with appointed volunteer committees to ensure the success of special events and fundraising initiatives.

  • Help maintain a clean and organized gallery, office & printshop by completing weekly cleaning checklists.

Requirements

The Printshop & Programs Coordinator is expected to maintain a high degree of independence in executing tasks. Taking initiative, determining priorities, and applying proactive problem solving are essential skills. Experience planning and implementing workshops and visual arts programming for adults and managing volunteers would be an asset.
