Olu & Company seeks a full-time, remote Account Associate to support publicity campaigns and communications strategy for brands, nonprofits and individuals in the fields of art, design and social impact. Founded in 2012, Olu & Company is a Black-led agency that collaborates with clients in the fields of art, design and social impact to build significant media presence and actualize branding, marketing, content and communications goals. Our diverse team of creative strategists identify and amplify the unique stories of our clients with approaches tailored to their specific needs.
Research and synthesize a high volume of information from different sources in order to write compelling communications and PR collateral, including but not limited to press releases, pitches, bios, boilerplates and social media copy.
Research, develop and maintain media strategies with accuracy.
Create and update media kits with an eye for detail and knowledge of what will resonate aesthetically with press.
Track coverage and create press clippings using Coverage Book for online, print and broadcast media placements.
Attend client meetings and conference calls daily.
Administer scheduling of client meetings, draft agendas and recaps and take notes on all calls.
Correspond regularly by email with clients and stakeholders in a friendly and professional manner.

Knowledgeable, passionate and supportive of social change, including the Black Lives Matter movement, disability justice, Indigenous and Queer liberation and more.
Interest and experience in the arts, design or fashion.
Active consumer of media with a grasp on the cultural
landscape across a range of topics and issues.
Proactive team-player.
Critical thinker and creative problem solver with strong writing, copyediting and storytelling ability.
Attention to detail, especially in regard to database management and proofreading.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Fluent communication in person, on the phone and via email with a knack for building rapport with clients and colleagues.
Proficiency in Google Suite.
Experience in social media management and associates platforms a plus.
College degree, preferably in the arts, humanities, journalism or media studies.
1-3 years of relevant professional experience, including internships.
