Sean Kelly Gallery

Sean Kelly Gallery is currently seeking a full-time Registrar to work in coordination with the Head Registrar and Registrar Department. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 3-5 years professional registrarial experience in a gallery/museum environment or related fine art shipping experience. The successful candidate must be organized, detail-oriented and able to excel in a fast-paced environment. This position is full time (Monday to Friday and Saturdays during installation weeks, if necessary).


Registrarial activities, in coordination with the Head Registrar include:

  • Inventory and database management in Artlogic.

  • Coordinate local, domestic and international shipments to clients, to/from artist studios, galleries, museums and art fairs.

  • Provide estimates for crating and shipment.

  • Draft and oversee consignment, approval and loan agreements with gallery directors.

  • Work closely with the art handling team to ensure timely, efficient and safe handling of all artworks. Provide packing instructions and condition reports for all incoming and outgoing works.

  • Coordinate the production of artworks including fabrication, framing, printing and mounting.

  • Organize exhibition and art fair checklists, including wall labels.

  • Request and send certificates of authenticity from artist studios.

  • Maintain and update edition charts for gallery artists.

  • Maintain and archive shipping documents including bills of lading and customs paperwork.

  • Responsible for own correspondence and administration.

  • Any other duties as reasonably required by Owner, Directors and Head Registrar.


Candidates must have strong office computer skills including specific knowledge of Macs, Microsoft Word, Excel, Artlogic or Artbase, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.
