Yossi Milo Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea specializing in contemporary photography, works on paper and painting, seeks an experienced, detail-oriented Registrar with exceptional organizational skills and a professional, friendly manner.
The Registrar is responsible for many key aspects of the gallery’s operation. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Arrange for production and framing
Create object records and maintain the gallery’s art database
Maintain physical and digital inventory for works at the gallery and storage spaces
Create and maintain detailed records for shipping, receiving, loans and consignments
Coordinate shipping of all artworks, both internationally and in the U.S., including art fairs
Create/complete agreements for loans and consignments
High-level proficiency with computers, excellent verbal communication and writing skills are essential. The candidate must be capable of prioritizing and executing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and must have the ability to work collaboratively as part of the gallery team.
At least three years’ experience as a Registrar in a gallery or museum is required. Proficiency with Artsystems, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop is strongly preferred. Knowledge of international customs and tax procedures a plus.
