As a Sales Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of our art gallery. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and ensure a seamless customer experience. Your duties will include:

Customer Relationship Management: Foster an exceptional customer-centric environment that builds long-term relationships with clients. Understand clients’ preferences, art interests, and budgetary considerations to offer personalized recommendations.

Sales Strategy: Work closely with the marketing team to create effective sales strategies and promotional campaigns. Collaborate with marketing to ensure alignment between the gallery’s artistic vision and sales efforts. Plan a strategy to achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets. Provide guidance, support, and regular performance evaluations to optimize individual and team performance.

Art Market Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest art trends, artists, and market conditions to provide valuable insights to clients. Demonstrate expertise in various art forms and the value of artworks to confidently discuss investment potential with clients.

Events and Exhibitions: Organize and participate in art exhibitions, events, and art fairs to expand the gallery’s network and clientele. Represent the gallery with professionalism and enthusiasm at industry events.

Pricing and Negotiation: Handle negotiations, pricing, and sales contracts with a high level of professionalism and transparency. Ensure pricing is accurate and aligns with market value while maintaining the gallery’s financial objectives.

Collaboration: Collaborate with other gallery departments, including curatorial and logistics teams, to ensure a seamless end-to-end customer experience. Work closely with the gallery director to align sales strategies with overall gallery goals.

Benefits

Starting Base Salary $48,000

(*3 months trial period)

Plus commission participation and annual bonus

Salary will be reviewed annually

2 weeks paid vacation for the first year after 6 months of work. After the first year of employment, 3 weeks paid vacation.

7 days paid sick leave per year

Responsibilities

Fluent in English. Any other language is a plus.

In-depth knowledge of Excel, Word, Google Workspace, Photoshop, Intermediate computer skills, writing skills

Openness to travel and maintain flexibility to work beyond regular gallery hours, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate events, art fairs and exhibitions.

Willingness to learn, work with a good attitude and develop tasks in other areas of the gallery as needed as part of the team.

Ability to be a team player and communicate appropriately with the rest of the gallery staff.

Be creative and bring fresh ideas as part of the sales strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Art.

Proven 5 years of experience in art sales, preferably within a reputable art gallery or related industry.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a sales team effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients from diverse backgrounds.

A deep appreciation and understanding of various art forms and the art market.

Sales-driven mindset with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficiency in art sales software and customer relationship management (CRM) tools.

A network of contacts within the art community and art collector circles is a plus.
