Studio Assistant
Artist
This is a part-time role split between administrative and studio tasks as needed. Candidate will work closely with artist and assist with sourcing materials and studio maintenance as well as various administrative tasks.
Source, buy, and organize bulk art materials and other supplies
Manage studio storage organization, including packing works, storing extra canvases, safely storing inventory works and works in archives
Manage image archive, including documentation of new artworks
Manage database management of all unsold & sold works
Manage social media presence, including creating content and generating/updating posting schedule
Prepare and regularly update studio calendar with fair and exhibition deadlines
Assist with booking travel arrangements
Administrative management – monitor email and phone communication, managing various requests such as interview and studio visits, coordinate budgets with accountant, manage production expenses- Perform preliminary research on building an outdoor ceramics studio
Coordinate studio needs with external partners like gallery liaison
Run errands as needed
Flexible, easy-going, and positive demeanor
Organizational skills a must
Self-motivated
Understand gallery practices as well as have general art world and contemporary art knowledge
Knowledge of painting and ceramic techniques and materials
Ability to handle fragile works of art
Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
Car and driver license highly preferred with clean driving record
