The Visitor Engagement and Digital Media Manager is responsible for managing both the on-site and on-line visitor experience at the Fairfield Museum. The position oversees the Fairfield Museum’s social media channels, content management systems and website to increase brand awareness, expand organizational visibility, encourage community engagement, and inform our audiences about the Museum’s activities. The Visitor Engagement and Digital Media Manager also greets and assists visitors on-site, answers phone inquiries, and ensures a safe, enjoyable visitor experience.

  • Develop and implement a creative, integrated and high quality digital presence for the Fairfield Museum.

  • Manage the Museum’s website and social media branding to enhance the organization’s public profile and promote Museum programs, exhibits and events.

  • Oversee content management systems to ensure that all Fairfield Museum messaging is consistent and responsive across all digital platforms.

  • Develop and implement a social media marketing plan that includes brand development, identifying target audiences, and content strategy. Social media channels include but are not limited to email marketing, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube

  • Monitor social media to identify and address issues as well as communicate directly with our audience.

  • Create high quality digital media (i.e. graphics, videos) for the Museum’s social media channels.

  • Collect and analyze analytics to regularly evaluate the performance of social media marketing.

  • Provide informed, professional and friendly visitor assistance on-site.

  • Use Square automated point of sale system to process cash receipts for admissions, store sales and program reservations.

  • Assist with room preparations for facilities rentals.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in developing creative, high quality social media strategies.

  • Advanced working knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.

  • Experience in building brand identity through digital media, graphics, writing and video production.

  • Experience with search engine optimization, keyword research, and Google Analytics

  • Graphic design and video production experience preferred

  • Experience with WordPress CMS, MailChimp, Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing software.

  • A strong background in project management and customer service, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, highly creative and organized, with a careful attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage several simultaneous tasks in a demanding work environment.

The Visitor Engagement and Digital Media Manager is a full-time, 30 hour/ week position requiring occasional evening and weekend hours. The position will require employee to lift, bend, stoop, walk, speak and stand for up to 7 hours in a day. Salary range $40,000 - $45,000 / year with a generous benefit package including health, disability, dental and life insurance and employer-sponsored 401K.
