SUMMARY: We are seeking an attentive and meticulous Proofer for our Ancient and World Coins department to join our team. This entry-level position is tailored for individuals with an interest in numismatics, eager to ensure the accuracy and consistency of our coin descriptions before they reach our catalog. By focusing on this specialized proofing, you will be playing a crucial role in maintaining the quality of our offerings while freeing up our more seasoned staff for advanced tasks.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Proofing Descriptions: Diligently review and proof descriptions of Ancient and World Coins ensuring accuracy and adherence to our format standards.

Metal Type Verification: Confirm the listed metal types for each coin, ensuring they are accurate and complete.

Investment Gold Verification: Double-check the identification and labeling of Investment Gold lots, ensuring they comply with our standards.

Formatting Consistency: Ensure that all descriptions follow our established formatting conventions, making necessary adjustments as needed.

Collaboration: Work closely with catalogers and other proofers to ensure a high level of accuracy and consistency across all listings.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the numismatics field, especially regarding Ancient and World Coins, to ensure the highest level of accuracy in proofing.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Basic knowledge of or strong interest in numismatics, particularly in the area of Ancient and World Coins.

Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to tasks.

Excellent written communication skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Prior experience in proofing or cataloging is a plus, but not required.
