Apice is the leading company in Italy for the movement of works of art. Since 1973 deals with crating, packing, road transport with own fleet in Italy and Europe, air and sea shipping, airpost assistance, rigging, installations, and depo.
We are looking for:
part time
full time 39 hours a week
free lance
Art handlers to be included in our team, even for free lance processing, with basic training and skills.
Responsibilities
Handling of all kind of work of art, antique forniture, design and fragile objects.
Packing with soft materials the artworks
Positioning of the works of art into the crates
Packing the 3D sculptures or objects into the shaped crates
Installation into the galleries, museums or private collector homes
Loading and stuffing into vans and truks
Driving vans or trucks.
Compilation of documentation for transports (DDT and CMR), team leader and drivers logs, condition reports with accompanying photos.
Storage
Some overtime and weekend work may apply
Requirements
Knowledge of italian
Minimum 2 years of art-handling experience
Team Player, able to work in a dynamic environment
Experience installing large and heavy objects with gantry, scaffolding, spider crane, material lift or manually.
Knowledge of all tools, equipments and hardware
Positive, proactive and problem solving attitude
Driving licence for car and van is a plus
Driving licence for truck, truck and trailer, or semitrailer is a plus
Carpentery skill is a plus
