Position assists in supporting an active schedule of temporary exhibitions, permanent collection installations, photography, shipping conservation, and research projects. Position requires ability to handle heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds, and must have experience in the use of powered lifts and ladders in art galleries as well as skill in handling trucks, forklifts and other forms of moving equipment.

Prior carpentry and art handling experience in a professional setting is required, preferably in a museum or professional gallery setting; ideal candidate will have experience implementing exhibitions, and building exhibition furniture/walls. This position will take responsibility for ensuring proper handling of fine art work, and other exhibition duties as assigned, and must have experience with woodshop tools and fabrication techniques, as well as knowledge of building construction and general mechanical maintenance.

Must possess a valid TX driver license with an excellent driving record as position may include driving Museum vehicles on behalf of the Museum. Ideal candidate will have three to five years of art handling experience; prior accredited museum experience and familiarity with museum industry standards and best practices as outlined by American Alliance of Museums (AAM) required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SketchUp applications and software preferred.
