Art Services is an essential part of the successful operation of Halcyon Gallery. Our prestigious galleries require a dedicated Art Technician with packing and some carpentry skills to support all the day to day activities of the galleries.
Responsibilities
The role is responsible for providing logistical support for all gallery activities. This includes:
Handling all artwork and installations, packing and preparing for dispatch
Assembling basic crates, cases and other packaging as needed
Hanging for the gallery and client appointments
Gallery displays and re-hanging
Gallery stock management
Handling all art carefully and with due consideration
Logging and reporting any damaged pieces whether damaged in the gallery or before arrival
You may also be required on occasion to attend client appointments and deliveries. It may be necessary to work weekends and/or long hours on occasion.
Secondary Responsibilities
Actively involved in the appearance of the galleries, maintenance and facilities as required by the Head of Operations, to ensure the facilities run efficiently and smoothly. This may include the following:
Facilities and services as required by the business
In absence of the Stock Manager, receive deliveries
Requirements
Ideally candidates will have achieved an A-level standard of education.
Candidates must be qualified to work within the EU.
At least 2 years’ experience of gallery- standard art handling is required.
Beneficial, but not essential are artwork installation and/or restoration experience and a full, clean driving license.
