A top performing Art Handler/Driver will be able to identify different types of artwork and determine the safest ways to pack, install and transport for outstanding customer satisfaction and an industry leading professional standard. A top performing Art Handler/Driver will achieve these job outcomes:

Responsibilities

Communication & Paperwork

  • Communicating efficiently is key to the success of our company. Lots of information is passed from client to office and from office to art handler. Having great communication lines ensures we are able to complete jobs without error. Must fill out paperwork correctly (BOL’s, material usage sheet, condition reports, site visit forms and any other forms that are part of job)

Packing Art

  • Recognize types of art and determine how it needs to be packed. Determine what types of materials are needed to pack and transport art work safely to its location, will load art into a vehicle for transportation in a safe fashion to protect the works of art during transport.

Installation

  • Ability to utilize different types of hardware and mounts to secure art on a wall, pedestal, wire or whatever may be needed to place the art work for view and or storage. The ability to recognize different types of materials such drywall, stucco, stone etc.

Company Vehicles

  • Must have a valid Drivers License and clean driving record. Must be able to drive large box trucks, van and pickup. Over the road trucks require class B CDL to operate. Line Haul division requires a Class A CDL. These vehicles must remain DOT compliant. Must perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to keep trucks in safe operating order. Must take pride in our fleet and clean after each use.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have these skills:

  • 1-2yrs minimum experience in a museum, gallery or FAS setting.

Clean driving record.

  • Prior equipment operation (skytrak, scissor lifts, etc…)

CDL A or B

Hours & Compensation

  • This is a full-time position scheduled M-F 8am-5pm with occasional evening and weekend work

  • If you choose to go on the road with your CDL, 60% to 80% travel to other locations

  • This position is a combination of both in-town work, working out of town, and/or OTR work.
