Summary:

Responsible for cataloguing, research, and formatting formal appraisals including some on-site work, occasional attendance at conferences, and assistance with invoicing, marketing, and consignments.

Responsibilities
  • Answering phone and email inquiries

  • Taking photographs and gathering information during site visits

  • Researching industry-standard descriptions and provenance history

  • Formatting and editing appraisal reports

  • Facilitating appraised property through the consignment process

  • Representing Heritage at events and conferences

  • Coordinating printed and electronic marketing materials

  • Organize large amounts of data efficiently and correctly

  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 2+ years of experience working in a major auction house and/or appraisal firm or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Word and Excel

  • High ability to multitask and pay great attention to detail

  • Have positive attitude and excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Must have exceptional client service and time management skills

  • Think quickly and thoroughly to solve problems

  • Work well with others and meet deadlines in a timely manner

  • Embrace learning new subjects with enthusiasm

  • Manage high-profile clients politely and resourcefully

  • Be flexible and work in a fast-paced team environment

  • Travel when needed
