We are seeking an Archival Associate to work alongside our gallery team in a fast-paced, energetic environment. The position is Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00am - 6:00pm, with additional hours as needed for openings and gallery events. (From July 6 to September 3, 2021 the hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm)
This position will rotate between the gallery’s three spaces.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
Website Management (responsibilities including but not limited to):
Regularly build and publish exhibition, art fair and artist pages
Frequently add upcoming news items, relevant press, selected texts, and new publications
Update web CVs regularly
Review artist pages with gallery team weekly
Photography and Image Processing:
Work with gallery and photographer on photo schedule and priorities
Liaise with outside photographers to schedule install and artist studio photography
Update database with photo status note from daily photographer updates
Rename and resize new images
File images on server, upload lo res to database, upload to website where appropriate
Press Assistance:
Field gallery’s press email
Log all incoming requests and outgoing press outreach
Track status of requests and expected publication date
Send weekly press update to gallery team with links to recently published items
Format and archive incoming press, file on server, upload to web, send to team
Draft and send e-announcements
Digital and Physical Archive Maintenance:
Update upcoming exhibitions log with forthcoming shows and projects via gallery team
Perform daily web searches for relevant items, flag items to team
Use log to track image, web and CV status
Update CV and artist pack pdfs, upload to database and server
Digitize historical archives
Request information and archival materials from institutions pertaining to gallery artists
Field magazines and mail, scan for press items
Liaise with Clients and Visitors:
Send invoices and hi res images to clients
Greet visitors and answer phones, engage visitor inquiries concerning the gallery, exhibitions and artists
General Gallery and Artist Support:
Send artists and studios hi res images
Help maintain orderly work spaces, order supplies
Open and close spaces every day
Assist with openings and events as needed
Working knowledge of Google Drive, Indesign and Photoshop strongly preferred
Familiarity with Mailchimp and Wordpress a plus
2-3 years experience working in art galleries, museums or auction houses preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage time, multitask, take initiative, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail
Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively
