About you
You are an experienced Art Handler who has worked in the museum, gallery or art transportation world with a wide range of fine art objects in the areas of storage, crating, shipping, transportation and installation.

You are an expert in fine art, museum standards and materials for art handling, installation, and packing
You have installation knowledge of various media types (flatworks, small sculpture, etc.)
You are able to think critically through installation instructions
You understand the materials that make up the objects and how these materials may react with installation or packing materials
You are able to work as a part of a team and contribute to cooperative problem solving
You have the capacity to work comfortably on a truck as well as in a customer-focused environment
You meticulously complete paperwork including bills of lading, labeling, and detailed condition reports with accompanying photos.
You understand typical parties and agreements involved in the transportation, handling, and installation of artworks and museum objects
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and keep lines of communication open.
You maintain and safe-guard all tools, equipment, and other company property, both personal and shared
You have sound judgment and grace under pressure – with clients and colleagues
Qualifications
2 years experience in a gallery, museum, or art transportation company
Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, bend, lift, and use hands
Regularly be in truck cab for extended periods and must exhibit physical agility to enter and exit trucks and/or trailers
Exposed to outside weather conditions on a frequent basis
Must be able to lift 60 pounds unassisted and must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 300lbs with assistance of mechanical equipment
Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jacks; a plus but not required
The ability to drive 18-24’ box truck; a plus but not required
