Hangman is currently looking for positive and hard-working New York-based art handlers to specialize in operation of our regional art shuttles. Born out of our love for art, music and traveling, Hangman is a fast-growing art services/transportation company based in Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Miami with a satellite office the Hamptons.
Responsibilities
Safe packing and unpacking of artworks of various types
Safe movement of art to and from Hangman vehicles
Safe securing of art on trucks
Assisting and/or leading art installation
Client-facing/Client interactions
General knowledge of associated tools
Performance of other related duties as required
Punctual and communicative
Availablity 830am-5pm weekdays
Operation and management of vehicle and cargo
Use of electronic logging device and associated software
Use of Hangman software during the course of work
Requirements
2+ years art handling OR art transport experience
Packing experience
Art installation experience preferred
Previous experience at an art services company, museum, or gallery
Ability to safely lift 40-50lbs individually
Valid/clean drivers’ license req’d
Ability to drive up to 26’ box truck
Ability to work independently
Basic knowledge of mechanical functioning of diesel trucks
Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance as necessary (i.e. checking fluids, tires, identifying and managing vehicle issues as they arise)
Knowledge of DOT regulations and electronic logging device usage a plus
Knowledge of Greater New York / US highway system a plus
Knowledge of art, music and travel a plus
