Archive Fine Art (AFA), a high-end fine art storage and service company, located in Saugerties, NY seeks experienced, professional art handler and driver. AFA is focused on providing a premier storage facility for contemporary and modern art, but also specializes in installation, transport, and rigging allowing for the opportunity to work on many challenging and exciting projects. This job offers a unique insight into the art world from the perspective of the artist, gallery, museum, and collector.

Responsibilities

Ideal candidate has a strong work ethic and sense of accountability, is highly organized, meticulous, recognizes priorities, and follows through on all tasks. All applicants must have positive, progressive attitudes and experience working in groups, with a developed sensitivity for interacting with clients and understanding of job site decorum. Any experience in construction, truck driving and forklift operation is a plus. Familiarity with Mac platform and FileMaker Pro is ideal but must be comfortable navigating a computer and able to learn new systems quickly.

Requirements

At least three years of professional practice as an art handler and truck driver is a must. Prior fine art warehouse experience, as well as knowledge of New York State and NYC roadways, is preferred. Position will involve predominately driving daily to various upstate and NYC locations with 24-foot box truck, in addition to other various tasks including: receiving and releasing shipments, wrapping and packing artwork and inventorying shipments.
