Library Street Collective and Louis Buhl & Co. are seeking a full-time Art Handler / Production Assistant to be an integral support role to the team. This is an opportunity for a highly-skilled, professional, and motivated individual to work with the gallery on exhibitions, operations, and special projects. The candidate will be responsible for the completion of installations, de-installations, as well as packing artworks and site preparation. In addition, this candidate will lead the safe handling and packing of all Louis Buhl & Co. artworks, such as print editions, sculpture editions, and original artworks. Responsibilities
Assist with packaging methods and budget
Receive, inspect and safely store all artwork using archival methods
Assist Registrar with exhibition installations and de-installations
Pack and prepare LSC’s artwork for shipping and transportation as needed
Prepare and maintain all exhibition spaces
Maintain artwork inventory for LB & LSC
Pack all Louis Buhl & Co. artworks (print editions, sculpture editions, original artwork)
Access to reliable transportation preferred
Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
1-3 years experience working at a gallery, museum, or fine art shipping company (Required)
1-3 years experience packing and handling art; expert knowledge of best practices and materials for respective artwork
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
The ability to safely lift and carry large and heavy objects
Google Suite (Required)
Microsoft Office (Required)
Shipping Softwares and sites including: Shipstation, Fedex.com & DHL.com
Inventory management software including: Gallery Manager & ArtLogic
