Solid Art Services is a fine art services company offering art handling, trucking, fabrication and storage.

Solid is looking for a part time Art Handler to join the team. The role focuses on the safe art handling, packing, transport and installation of artwork across galleries, museums, private clients, etc.

This role will collaborate closely with the Solid office, Fabrication Department, Warehouse team and with other Art Handlers.

The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and has a high level of communication with clients. They are proactive, collaborative and ensure the highest standards of art handling and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Daily Art Handling Operations

Install and deinstall artwork according to best practices
Wrap and pack artwork safely in slipcases, shadowboxes, custom crates, travel frames, slat crates, etc
Load, strap and transport works safely
Maintain an organized, clean and safe environment on the trucks, in the warehouse and on site
Communicate professionally with all clients
Ensure all projects are executed per Solid’s standards
Safely operate power tools and equipment
Properly complete paperwork upon pick up and delivery locations
Load and offload artwork, crates and supplies as needed at warehouse in collaboration with Warehouse Team
Perform condition reports and condition checks as needed
Ensure proper safety protocols and packing methods
Other tasks as assigned
This is a part time, hourly, W2 employee position with room to grow into full time. Days are flexible.

Requirements

One to three years of experience with art handling, installation, transport in all types of settings
Demonstrated ability to drive a box truck
Knowledgeable on packing materials and best packing and handling practices
Collaborative team player, able to work in a dynamic environment
Ability to read, process and execute artwork packing specifications
Ability to safely lift 50lbs individually
Capable of working well under pressure
Maintain a neat and clean appearance
Excellent communication abilities
Positive attitude, punctual, strong work ethic and professional demeanor
